CMAA World Conference on Club Management

David will present Playing with Fire: Avoiding Food & Beverage Liability at Your Club to the members of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) at their 2011 World Conference on Club Management. CMAA is the professional association for managers of membership clubs. With close to 7,000 members across all classifications, its manager members run more than 3,000 country, golf, city, athletic, faculty, yacht, town and military clubs.

In The Mix Magazine

David’s article "Money for Nothing" was featured on the Summer 2010 issue of In The Mix. The article discusses the need for restaurant and bar owners to make sure they have appropriate insurance coverage for food- and beverage-related claims. The article also suggested resources that operators can use to guard against claims.

Hospitality Law Conference

On February 4, 2010, David presented The Modern Menu: Warnings, Disclaimers, and Nutrition Labeling at the 8th Annual Hospitality Law Conference. This session focused on the legal aspects of menu design, including the use of warnings and disclaimers to avoid (or limit) liability for foodborne illness and allergic reactions. The session also addressed existing nutrition labeling laws, as well as proposed national menu labeling legislation.

David was featured in the January 2010 issue of Restaurant Start Up and Growth Magazine in an article entitled, "Risky Business: How to Prevent Workplace Hazards." In this article, David addressed common and uncommon workplace injury issues, discussed workers' compensation insurance and suggested how to set up a safety training program in-house.
